1.         Preamble

Delegates of the NCCK from Coast Region have met here at Jumuia Conference and Beach Resort, Kanamai for the last two days guided by the theme “Shinning the Light of Christ (Matthew 5: 14 – 16)”. We have executed our constitutional mandate and also reflected on matters of concern to our region and the nation at large, and wish to share the following message with Kenyans.

Drought Status in the Central Region: Kakuzi and Makuyu Divisions in Murang’a County

The most affected area by drought is Kirimiri location in Kakuzi Division in Murang’a County. It borders Machakos District and has a population of 15,000 people, most of whom are squatters who survive by doing casual jobs in the neighboring Kakuzi plantations.

  • Promote fellowship and ecumenism;

  • Build the capacities of the membership;
  • Enhance the creation of a just and sustainable society;
  • Uphold its corporate health, identity, heritage and sustainability.
