North Rift Region

The National Council of Churches of Kenya (NCCK) North Rift Region is dedicated to fostering sustainable development, peaceful coexistence, and youth empowerment across the North Rift counties of West Pokot, Elgeyo Marakwet, Uasin Gishu, Trans Nzoia, Nandi and Turkana. The region plays a crucial role in enhancing agricultural livelihoods by promoting climate-smart farming practices, improving food security, and supporting alternative economic activities to help communities adapt to climate change and drought.
Youth empowerment is another key focus, with NCCK providing platforms for young people to participate in governance, entrepreneurship, and digital peace advocacy. Through training, mentorship, and policy engagement, the organization ensures that youth voices are heard in decision-making processes while equipping them with ICT skills and economic opportunities.

North Rift Regional Manager

Rev. Grace Rugut leads the NCCK North Rift Region, overseeing programs across six counties. With over eight years of experience in project coordination, she provides strategic leadership, ensuring effective implementation of NCCK’s initiatives in peacebuilding, livelihoods, governance, and climate resilience. Her dedication to community transformation has been instrumental in fostering sustainable development in the region.

Solomon Cheruiyot

Assistant Programmes Officer

Solomon Cheruiyot brings 12 years of hands-on experience in implementing NCCK programs. His expertise spans peacebuilding, climate resilience, and community empowerment. With a strong background in grassroots engagement, he plays a critical role in facilitating impactful projects that uplift vulnerable communities across the North Rift region.

With over 20 years of experience in logistical and program support, Shem Manduku ensures the smooth and efficient transportation of staff and resources for field activities. His deep knowledge of the region’s terrain and commitment to safety have been vital in supporting NCCK’s outreach efforts.
