SMEP Seeking Head of Finance

by admin / Friday, 19 September 2025 / Published in News

SMEP Microfinance Bank, which traces its origins in the National Council of Churches of Kenya, has announced a fresh call for applications to fill the Head of Finance position.

The candidate selected will provide strategic and operational financial leadership in planning, cashflow management, audits, and investments. This is in addition to ensuring compliance with international accounting standards.

SMEP Microfinance Bank was established in the 1970s as a programme of the NCCK aimed at providing credit and financial trainings to low income communities in Nairobi’s slums. It grew with time to cover the entire county, and in 2010 was licensed to operate as a Micro Finance Bank regulated by the Central Bank of Kenya. In 2023, Hope Advancement Inc acquired 51% of the shareholding of SMEP MFB.

Applicants for the position are required to hold A Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, commerce or business administration, and have 7 years’ progressive management experience.
