Your Vote, Your Voice
This message took centre stage during a civic and voter education session in Kitui Central, organised by the National Council of Churches of Kenya (NCCK) bringing together 27 participants, including 13 persons with disabilities (PWDs), youth and young mothers.
The session, facilitated by Madam Janet Mutia, Kitui Central Constituency Returning Officer, aimed to promote inclusive participation, challenge social biases and discriminatory barriers and equip participants with knowledge on voter registration, verification and informed electoral participation.
Participants were guided through the IEBC voter verification portal, polling-station transfers, the six elective positions, ballot paper and ballot box colours and the importance of choosing leaders based on their character, manifestos, track record and ability to address community needs.Participants who were not on the voters’ roll also got an opportunity to register as voters.
The forum marks the beginning of an ongoing engagement aimed at strengthening civic awareness and ensuring that women, youth and PWDs are informed and actively participate in democratic processes.
Your vote is your voice. Use it wisely.
