Rev. Dr. Agola was elected the Chair of the National Council of Churches of Kenya (NCCK) in 2024 for a 3 year term renewable once.
He holds a Doctor of Humane Letters (Governance, Ecumenism & Social Justice) from Breakthrough Bible International University (2024), an MA in Conflict Transformation & Social Justice from Queen’s University Belfast, and a Bachelor of Divinity from St. Paul’s University. He is currently pursuing an MSc in Governance at International Leadership University.
Rev Dr Agola also serves as Director of the PCEA Justice, Peace, Reconciliation & Creation (JPRC) department of the Presbyterian Church of East Africa (PCEA). He is also an Advisory Board Member of the Global Freedom Network and an adjunct lecturer at the PCEA University.
At the ecumenical level, he sits on the Executive Committee of the Inter-Religious Council of Kenya
Previously, Rev. Dr. Agola held numerous leadership roles within the Presbyterian Church of East Africa, including Presbytery Moderator (Milimani and Limuru), Presbytery Clerk (Limuru), and Presbyterian Diaspora Minister (UK). He also served as Chaplain at the Kenya Police College, Kiganjo. In the past he was member of the NCCK/KCCB Ecumenical Mediation Team and served as an Ecumenical Advisor to the World Council of Churches 11th General Assembly in 2022.
Across these roles, he has led peace and reconciliation initiatives, coordinated post-election interventions, and supported mediation efforts with national and local stakeholders.

Bishop Dr. John Odhiambo Okinda, HSC, is the Presiding Bishop and President of the Pentecostal Evangelistic Fellowship of Africa (PEFA) Church in Kenya. He began his theological journey at Nairobi Pentecostal Bible College, earning a diploma in theology, and later pursued further studies at Chesapeake College and Nation 2 Nation Christian University, where he obtained degrees in theology and biblical studies. His leadership within PEFA has been marked by steady progression, serving as Secretary General from 2012 to 2019 before assuming the role of Presiding Bishop in June 2019.
Beyond ecclesiastical leadership, Dr. Okinda is deeply committed to education and community transformation. Together with his wife, Rev. Pamela Okinda, he founded the Msomi Group of Schools in Migori County, which provides quality, faith-based education to disadvantaged children. He also established Bishop Okinda High School, later donating it to the Ministry of Education to expand access. These institutions emphasize character development, mentorship, and holistic empowerment through academics, sports, and the arts.
Dr. Okinda’s influence extends nationally and internationally. He received a Head of State Commendation in 2019 for his service to Kenya and has been a vocal advocate for ethical leadership, justice, and civic responsibility.

Mr. Thiong’o is the Treasurer of the National Council of Churches of Kenya.
He holds an MBA (Finance) and a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) degree from the University of Nairobi. He is a CPA(K) and a CPS(K) with good standing.
He is currently the Group CEO of Next Level Mavericks Group of Companies. The Group has interests in Real Estate, Hospitality, Telecommunication and Fitness Industries.
Previously, John was a Public Finance Management Consultant. He was involved in several consultancy assignments leading high profile teams of consultants in various aspects of Public Financial Management. He worked at PwC for 15 years in various roles, the last being Senior Manager, Public Sector Group. Prior to joining PwC, John was the Credit Controller of General Motors East Africa Ltd, where he oversaw the management of an account receivable portfolio exceeding KES. 1.6 billion.
He serves in several boards including the SMEP MBF Board of Directors and St. Paul University Board of Trustees.

General Secretary
Rev. Canon Chris Kinyanjui Kamau is the General Secretary of the National Council of Churches of Kenya. He is an ordained Priest of the Anglican Church of Kenya.
He holds a Master’s Degree in International Economic Law from the University of South Africa, a Bachelor of Laws Degree from the University of Nairobi and a Diploma in Legal Practice from the Kenya School of Law.
Besides being an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya, Rev Canon Chris is a Certified Public Secretary (CPS-K) and a member of the Institute of Certified Public Secretaries of Kenya and the Law Society of Kenya.
Rev Canon Chris serves on the Board of Directors of various organizations, among them: Christian Students Leadership Centre, SMEP Microfinance Bank, Jumuia Hospitals Limited and National Council for Population and Development. He is also a Council Member of the Board of Trustees of St. Paul’s University.
Previously, he served as the Clerk of the County Assembly of Murang’a and the Secretary to the County Assembly Service Board from 2014 – 2019.

Deputy General Secretary

Pastor Sussie Ndanyi is a recorded Minister with the Friends Church (Quakers) in Kenya and currently serves as the Deputy General Secretary of the National Council of Churches of Kenya (NCCK). She brings a seasoned experience in church administration, advocacy, governance with, and a deep commitment to justice and spiritual formation.
Preceding her appointment to the Council in 2024, Pastor Sussie worked as an Administrator and Program coordinator with Friends United Meeting. She previously held the position of General Secretary at the Friends Church (Quakers) Nairobi Yearly Meeting, where she implemented key policies in Finance Management, Human Resources, and Operational Risk. Sussie’s background includes work in the Banking industry.
Her leadership roles include serving as Treasurer of NCCK Nairobi Region, Board member of the Friends World Committee for Consultation, and also the Board of Friends United Meeting.
Pastor Sussie holds an MBA from Kenyatta University, a Master of Divinity from Earlham School of Religion, and a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Nairobi.
