USAID - NCCK has partnered with USAID for four years to 2025. This partnership resulted in enhanced citizen participation and engagement in the electoral reform process, and enhanced youth engagement.

USAID Mulika Inititiative (Mentorship)

The Mulika Youth Mentorship Program consists of an extension of Mulika Initiative – “Peaceful and Accountable Democratic Process for a Cohesive Kenya”. Mulika Initiative is a faith-based/civil society-led cohesion and election oversight programme with a purpose to improve accountability and transparency in electoral and democratic Processes; and enhance citizen resilience against political manipulation.
It is an all-inclusive and participatory programme implemented under credible Kenyan organizations led by the National Council of Churches of Kenya (NCCK). The project saw a successful engagement of youth from both formal and informal structures that contributed to peaceful elections pre, during and after the 2022 elections. In order to build on this gain and increase the capacity of the youth to sustain peace in the post-election period, a new milestone was developed namely; “Capacity of the Youth strengthened to resist political incitements and manipulations during the post-election period.” The programme covers the period from 1st July 2023 to 24th May 2024.
The programme will be implemented in 6 counties namely Mombasa, Nairobi, Kiambu, Nakuru, Kisumu and Makueni Counties.
