Prepare for Retirement – Rev Canon Rosemary to NCCK Management

The time to prepare for your retirement is when you are still in employment, Rev Canon Rosemary Mbogo has advised the NCCK Senior Management Team members. Canon Rosemary served as the Chairperson of NCCK (2012 – 2018), being the first and so far only female to hold the position.

“Ensure you have an income stream that will enable you maintain your standard of living when you no longer have a pay slip“, Canon Rosemary inspired the team. She said this when sharing an inspirational devotion when she visited a meeting of the Senior Management Team earlier this week.

The management team members, led by General Secretary Rev Canon Chris Kinyanjui, were challenged to plan how to continuously give to the society after exiting the Council.

“Do not say you will retire to be with your family since the children will have left home and you are already used to your spouse,” Canon Rosemary warned, adding that one should “plan to be involved in activities that engage and are beneficial to the community”.

Canon Rosemary is currently a member of the Executive Committee of the Fellowship of Christian Councils and Churches in the Great Lakes and Horn of Africa (FECCLAHA) since retiring from the Anglican Church of Kenya in 2013, where she had served as Provincial Secretary for 17 years.
