Theme: โTime to Leadโ โ Because Silence is No Longer an Option
Every two seconds, someone dies from a preventable non-communicable disease (NCD). In Kenya, the numbers are sobering:
๐1 in 3 adults has raised blood pressure, and half donโt know it.
๐Diabetes cases doubled in just a decade.
๐Cancer kills more Kenyans than malaria, TB, and HIV combined.
๐1 million people are pushed into poverty every year due to NCD-related hospitalisation.
This is not just a health issue. It is a moral, economic, and developmental emergency.
At the National Council of Churches of Kenya (NCCK), together with KELIN and NCDAK, we are acting – from pulpit to policy:
โ
Reaching 1.2M Kenyans with faith-based public education on healthy living.
โ
Supporting households and churches to adopt healthier diets.
โ
Driving policy wins like the Kenya Nutrient Profile Model and pushing for front-of-pack warning labels.
The message is simple: hashtag#NCDs are man-made, and they can be reversed.
Whether you lead in the pulpit, the boardroom, the newsroom, or the classroom, this is your call to step in, speak up, and scale up.
The time to lead is now!
