Invitation to Interdenominational Prayer Service
On behalf of the National Council of Churches of Kenya (NCCK), the Evangelical Alliance of Kenya (EAK), the Kenya Christians Professionals Fellowship (KCPF) and the National Association of Youth Workers Networks (NAYNET), we are pleased to invite you to a joint interdenominational service themed “Lest We Forget” (Habakkuk 1:2-4), scheduled for Sunday June 22nd, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at All Saints Cathedral, Nairobi.
Following a reflection, consultation and building concurrence in the last couple of weeks, we resolved to jointly convene this service with the objective of honouring the lives lost during the protests of June 25th, 2024; reflecting on how far the country and the church have come since then; encouraging and praying for the bereaved families, and rekindling hope among our youth for a better tomorrow through prayer, testimonies, and creative arts.
Key highlights of the liturgy will include, but will not be limited to: youth-led worship and prayers, with senior clergy in supportive roles; memorial tributes for victims of past injustices, including a solemn name-reading ceremony; a call to action for sustained church engagement in justice, discipleship, and trauma healing.
Your physical presence and online engagement will underscore our unity in Christ and commitment to guiding the nation. We request you to mobilise your congregations to attend and promote the event using the hashtag #LestWeForgetJune25.
Let us stand together as a beacon of hope.
Yours in Christ’s Service,
Rev. Kepha Nyandega,
General Secretary,
Evangelical Alliance of Kenya.
Rev. Rev. Canon Chris Kinyanjui,
General Secretary,
